History teaching has experienced a tortuous process during the continuousreforms and developments, which gave us a deep thinking and enlightenment. Toreview and summarize gains and losses in this process would be a guide or mirror tothe current new history curriculum reform. Since the history teaching in Jiangxi’sordinary high schools has changed greatly from1977to1997, this paper willconduct a thorough research into the history teaching reform during this period,combined with8national education reforms after1949, hoping to effectivelypromote the history teaching reform scientifically.The thesis includes3parts (Introduction, Text and Conclusion),6chapters.Chapter I: Introduction: Introducing the status quo, the research significanceand the research methods.Chapter II: Elaborating the related concepts of education reform and phases ofChina’s education reform, as well as Jiangxi’s ordinary high school history teachingreform. Reviewing the history teaching reform of Jiangxi’s ordinary high schoolfrom1949to1976;Analyzing this period’s characteristics and direction.Chapter III: Analyzing the background and process of history teaching reformduring1977-1997on the basis of sufficient historical data;Summarizing the reform’sexperience of this period.Comparing the curriculum standards and contents of highschool history; Analyzing the characteristics and regularities; Indicating thescientific direction of ordinary high school history teaching reform.Chapter IV: Discussing characteristics of high school history teaching methodand changes’ inspiration from1977to1997, by means of historical review andteachers’ interviews.Chapter V: Analyzing the history subject’s requirements of Jiangxi’s NationalEntrance Examination from1977to1997; Concluding the characteristics anddirection of history examination;Deepening the understanding of history teachingunder the NEE system.
