The Choice of Leisure Activity by Tourism Major Students in Vocational Colleges and Its Influential Factors

Tourism major students in vocational colleges have enough leisure time, their personal growth are closely related to their choice of leisure activities. Therefore, guiding students to use leisure time scientifically, helping students to choose better leisure activities, improving the quality of students’leisure life are of great significance to the students’personal growth and the development of China’s tourism industry.This study takes tourism major students in five vocational colleges for instance, using literature research method, questionnaire method, expert consultation method and depth interview method to build the questionnaire. The questionnaire is divided into three parts: characteristics of leisure activities of tourism major students in vocational colleges; scale of students’understanding of leisure activities and influential factors; the basic personal information of students. After obtaining a formal investigation data, using Excel to do descriptive statistical analysis on the first part and the third part, using SPSS20.0on the second part of the questionnaire by exploratory factor analysis and analysis of variance, correlation analysis. The results show the following problems:low level of leisure activity; leisure activities are not closely related to the tourism professional; mobile phone has become an important entertainment tool in leisure life; schools and families are lack of guiding for students when they choosing leisure activities; the students do not own the correct leisure values. In addition, factors affecting students’leisure choice include thirteen factors four aspects in all: personal aspect includes "own condition""the importance of leisure activities"" preference of leisure activities""cognitive of leisure activities"; school aspect includes "school leisure activity content""the influence of tourism professional learning leisure activities""the improving methods schools should do""leisure environment of campus""significance of leisure activities in school"; family aspect includes "attention that family have on my leisure activities""influence of family’s arrangement on my spare time"; social aspect includes "influence of the social leisure state "" conditions society has been providing".According to the present situation of tourism major students in vocational colleges, combined with the training goal and the demand of tourism market, putting forward the corresponding countermeasures: schools and families should add leisure facilities and strengthen guidance for the students’leisure choice; outstanding professional practice, enhancing the professional ability of the students in the professional aspect; paying attention to phenomenon of students’addiction in playing mobile phone, guiding students to use mobile phone correctly; developing the educational function of peer groups; to help students establish the correct value of leisure; cultivating students’sense of responsibility in leisure life.
