Design and Realizationin of DPAA-based Accelaration Scheme in LTE System

With the rapid development and application promotion of Internet, the constantly growing bandwidth and complicated services are put forward. Future network need not only great bandwidth but also the growing new business. Such as schedule of packet and offer QOS over IP and secure communications over common network. How to realize the new function and meet the demand of network business growth is one of the great challenge for great network equipment providers.To adapt to the newly developed network technology, a new kind of micro processor appear, that is Networks Processor which is a micro processor, specially used in network equipment. It brings high performance and flexibility and it offer an open platform for the development of network by promoting software to meet constantly growing demand, which is of great significance. With the development of the times, more and more late-model NPs appear with great performance and have been used more often in network equipment. This paper use P4080as the development platform, put an emphasis on the architecture of P4080and analyse a very important module of the NP, that s DPAA, Data Path Acceleration Architecture for short.DPAA includes some function such as Queue Management, Buffer Management, Frame Management and so on.At the same time, this paper analyse the process of network packet under DPAA in VxWorks system. Under the basis of the above and with the combination of superiority with DPAA and the function must be realized, we offer some optimization or realization scheme based DPAA, such as PDCP encryption and integrality protection in LTE system and optimization of platform (OSP). Finally, a test platform is built, and function and performance test is offered.Result shows the scheme can meet the process demand in LTE system and after optimization using DPAA.the performance greatly improve.
