Analysis and design of GPS vehicle management system of fire protection

With speeding up of urbanization and the rapid development of our economy in recent years, our fire departments from the whole nation have to face missions which is urgent, difficult and dangerous. But for the moment, some fire departments still face situations like relying on single-form communication method in vehicle coordination and like obsolete monitoring and management method. These factors negatively affect the headquarter’s ability to make decisions in terms of the overall situation and may be the causes of missing the best timing to handle the emergency. The question that how to set up a effective, efficient, flexible and reliable GPS-based fire-engine management system has become an urgent issue. This paper firstly introduces the background of the GPS-based fire-engine management system, illustrates problems that need to be solved, discusses the meaning and importance of the project and states the method to develop the system and technology needed. This paper gives the design goals of the system, does detailed demand analysis of the system. The analysis includes operation demand, function demand, data demand and non-function demand. The paper also gives systematic diagram of operation process, use cases and conception class diagram. It also gives use cases.In the designing process, I conduct overall design and modular design for the system, which include function modules like vehicle status query, vehicle information input, alarm operation, track review and user interface,etc. This paper also gives structure of the function modules, flowchart, activity chart; illustrates detailed designing content; does interface design and design of database by using entity class diagram and database function. Finally, the researches of this paper are summarized, some limitations are pointed out and the perspectives on the future are presented.
