Motor, as a kind of energy converter, applies in all kinds of production and normal living area, especially in industrial places. Motor testing system is a normal way to verify the condition of motors, however, traditional testing ways are always not good enough for low automation, complication and low efficiency themselves. Accompany with the development of the time and the enhanced technology application, computers are used in industrial controlling abroad, the development of technologies will accelerate the speed of new motor testing system, heading for intelligence, numeric, and network system.Virtual instrument technology is based on the high-speed development of computer. "Software is instrument", as a basic idea, is brought forward by the company NI(National Instrument), it save a lot of cost by replace traditional hardware for software. LabVIEW is a kind of software developed by NI for virtual instrument which use graph program language, it’s very simple and easy to learn by engineers, and liberate these engineers from complicated program work, it can also reduce the developing period and improve efficiency.This paper put forward the application of virtual instrument technology into motor testing system, so as to achieve intelligence, numeric, and network system. Firstly, this paper introduced the motor testing system, clarified that the intelligence, numeric, and network motor testing system is the developing tendency, then introduced the searching direction and technology method of "intelligence and numeric motor testing system" from the whole, including design method, hardware frame, software frame, and different motor testing projects, etc. Secondly, chose a representative subsystem called "intelligent voltage adjustment system for motor testing" for detailed introduction, which included all key details of the main system, such as customer terminal interface program, communication server program, PLC connection based on OPC technology, electrical principle charts, etc. Finally, did some research in data storage, actualized database control based on virtual instrument technology, achieved browse and printing of the report forms.After applied successfully in a equipment testing institute of a national company for more than one year, this system works stably, it improved the testing efficiency, deducing load working, enhanced the working environment and testing level, for all the excellent behaviors, all the company members assure and appreciate this motor testing system.
