Design and Realization of Convergent Multi-service Access System Based on EoPDH

The paper depicts the design and realization of convergent multi-service access systembased on EoPDH standard. The research finding has been used directly to the implementingscheme of convergent multi-service access product GE-STM1from company，and builts asolid foundation for the further study on communication protocol conversion. So, It hasmuch practical significance.EoPDH transmits local Ethernet frame in the copper telecom infrastructure byemploying Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy (PDH) Transmission Technology. In this way,the operators could make good use of network consists of traditional PDH and SDH(Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) to support Ethernet services.As an EoPDH convergent multi-service access system, GE-STM1convergentprotocol converter is a new connection system positioning in the access level to providemulti-service interface to users. It adopts modular design and provides several businessexpansion slots. By means of theoretical research and experimental analysis, GE-STM1could realize the function of gathering from63E1channels to GE, constructpoint-to-multi-points private network for large-scale clients, and provide efficient, low-costaccess solutions with high reliability.In the paper, several key technologies which include GFP, VCAT, and LCAS whenEthernet business is mapped to the E1link in the EoPDH standard were introduced indetail. Furthermore, the system structure, hardware and software consistence of theGE-STM1convergent protocol converter based on the EoPDH standard were analyzed anddesigned. Finally, the product according to the standard was realized. In the end, theGE-STM1convergent protocol converter was tested and verified in specific environment.And the experiment results illustrated that the product met the design requirements in allrespects. Now this product has been batched into engineering application.
