The walking assistance rehabilitation robots take the users as the main body, take the userrequirement as the research purpose, improve the living quality of the disabled and the oldwith high-tech instruments, and thus enable them to live independently. As a specific objectclosely related with the human health, the walking assistance rehabilitation robots is chosen asthe carrier of the imported emotional design theory, we attempt to find the psychology andemotional needs of the users, establish a harmonious relationship between the walkingassistance rehabilitation robots and users for humanities concerning, realizing thecoordination of human and rehabilitation products.Firstly, Outline the basic concept of the rehabilitation engineering and the relationshipbetween the rehabilitation engineering and other subjects, review the main research contentsand the developing status of the rehabilitation engineering, introduce the main research areasof the rehabilitation robots,propose the future development direction of the rehabilitationrobot technology of the emotional design for walking assistance rehabilitation robots.Secondly, analyze the current high-tech social context, point out the coming of theemotional design era and reveal the inevitability of product emotional design research.Meanwhile,focus on analyzing the three hierarchical theory of the emotional design and theresearch method.Then, with the user-centered design, isolate users’ emotional needs from theirpsychology, behavior characteristics and needs, solve the users’ emotional needs for productsby emotional design, making the emotional design deep into users’ emotional world andbetter fulfill their emotional needs.Based on the above research, conclude the emotional design methods suited for therehabilitation robots such as scenario approach, product semantics and category classification.This paper focus on the category classification, introduce its features and advantages in detailand builds its workflow, finally, apply the research results to the design of the walkingassistance rehabilitation robots,And it verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the method.
