Flexible manufacturing is one of key directions of modern manufacturingindustry. The reconfigurable flexible process-equipment is particularly importantaerospace industry. A good control system is a reliable guarantee for the process-equipment to efficient and high-quality complete positioning task.Reconfigurable flexible process-equipment consists of dozens or even hundredsof positioning/support units. For control system which consists of many movingobjects, the traditional cable connection based on field bus technology is highcontrol costs and the complexity of the control circuit is hard to build andmanage. In order to simplify the control system, wireless communicationtechnology applies in reconfigurable flexible tooling control system.This paper focuses on wireless control system of flexible process-equipment. According to structure characteristics and technical requirements ofreconfigurable flexible process-equipment, this article provides distributedcontrol system based on ZigBee wireless communication technology and serialcontrol structure. It analyzes the characteristics of ZigBee technology, thestructure of the network structure and ZStack protocol stack. The wirelesscommunication module, which adopts CC2530, form s a ZigBee star networkstructure. It achieves the wireless communication between the PC and ARMcontroller. The ARM controller adopts S3C2410to receive and translate PCcontrol command, time-sharing drive motor unit and the position detection.Switching circuit is placed between the driver and motor to m eet the multi-axiscontrol needs. It implements a driver can be time-sharing to drive multiple motorand reduce control costs and complexi ty of the system. The upper-computersoftware is developed under the environment of Visual C++. Its functionsinclude read position data, send control commands and monitor the status. Toverify the accuracy and stability of the wireless communication contr ol system,this paper builds a flexible tooling positioning/support unit.The experimental results show that the control system can realize timesharecontrol of multiple positioning/support unit control points. The control systemhas high stability and accuracy. It is useful to the control of multiple axis.
