The use of video monitoring system has became more and more popular in allsorts of circumstances such as family, Banks, schools, traffic department andcommercial establishments. After simulation and digital times, monitoring system hasstep into the network monitoring system stage. The vigorous development ofembedded technology, with its good performance, small volume, high reliability,those advantages have make up for the deficiency of the traditional video monitoring.By the analysis of development of the remote monitoring system and the applicationvalue. Combined with the advantages of embedded and wireless WiFi technology, thispaper introduces a remote video monitoring based on ARM system, with its virtue ofwireless transmission, dismantling flexible. This system can be widely used in familysecurity, outdoor work and so on.In this paper, the hardware platform is Mini2440which use SC32440Amicroprocessor as the core. This paper analyzed the principle of the main hardware,and expounded the establishment of software platform, including the selection andinstallation of cross tool compiler, the configuration and transplantation of Bootloaderprogram vivi and Linux2.6.32kernel and making Yaffs2file system, etc. CompiledSPCAXX driver and TL-WN321G WiFi wireless driver into the kernel. On the basisof above, completed the program in the video for Linux interface of camera imagedata acquisition. This paper studied the key technology used in monitoring systemdevelopment and the development process of web server, use socket to writenetwork programming. In order to realize the purpose of collected image data andthrough the network transmission to the client browser for display it, this papertransplanted the BOA server, and finished its configuration and related applicationdevelopment. Realized the purpose of client PC browser visit the image from USBcamera through network.
