The social stability in China’s Tibetan areas is related to our national security situation and well-being of the various nationalities. The strategic significance of this issue is associated with the country’s movement and maintainability of its power. After the "3.14Lhasa Incident" in2008, a serious of Tibetan monk self-immolation phenomenon seriously affect the stability of the Southwest and the healthy development of the Tibetan areas.The construction of the monks inner world and its changes is closely related to social activities. With the deepening reforms of China’s socialist market economy and fast advancement of opening—up policies, the mass media is playing an in creasing crucial role in the transformation of monk’s value construction issue. Concerned about the status of Tibetan monks to mass media exposure refers to the topic of universal human happiness. According to statistics, the western media ranks the "Tibet、 human right in Sinkiang" and "religious issue " in China as the second hot topic as they would put most attention to it. Therefore, this issue has drawn wide attention from outsider which because the happiness of Tibetan monks is absolutely relating to human well-being. This dissertation will try to focus on how to investigate and analysis this issue scientifically and how to facilitate it in a beneficial way.The mass media is reconstructing the field of public opinion of the Tibetan monks. In morden society, the mainstream media constitute the official opinion field, differently, the Internet, mobile phones etc from up the citizen opinion market. Obviously, there would be no difference in Tibetan areas. This dissertation will put a closer eye to the monk’s official and public field, which hopes to explore better dissemination of results through multi-channels.From a theoretical point of view, using Tibetan monks for the object of study, no matter domestically or internationally, is very rare in the field of journalism and communication. As the audiences, the specialities of Tibetan monks can not be deny. The Buddhism culture which they compliance with is clashing with the principle of News of Popularization. Nevertheless, the mass media is an unavoidable information tool in morden society. In the fermentation of a variety of factors, this dissertation will mainly concentrate on what kind of appearance will present about monks engagement of mass media in a actual way. Pioneering research in this field is not only means a practical significance, which to a large extend, also stands for a high value of academic research.This dissertation conducts a field survey in Sichuan Province, Qinghai Province and Tibet which includes more than10states and counties. It will finally present the current situation of how the monks from more than20monasteries contact with the mass media and try to proposal in a effective way.
