Training Course Systems Research Based on University WCDMA Laboratory

3G has become the world’s major means of communication. In the 3G licenses that have been issued, there are close to 80% is based on the WCDMA license, so we say that, WCDMA technology research has typical sense. Many talented and experienced people that know the WCDMA technology are badly needed since WCDMA’s widespread use nowadays, and we know that university have the responsibility to training such kind person. So we set up a WCDMA core networks laboratory and make a Micro-Simulation networks, became the first university core network laboratories of 3G in our country. We established an effective system of course,in this laboratory, we can simulate various problems that may happen during the process of communication, and try to solve these problems accordingly. Meanwhile, this experimental platform gives comprehensive training for people, solve the bottleneck of personnel training well.In this paper we combined the technical characteristics of WCDMA, and basis on the experience of building the GSM network, Preliminary study Of the WCDMA system structure, key technologies, network planning and optimization. Rebuild the whole process of communication in the lab, and make the actual hardware platform as a support, analog communication failures to training the students.This article includes the following segments:1.Introduce the history of mobile communications, the difference from three mainstream 3G communications technology, and the significance of University Laboratory WCDMA Networks Micro-Simulation2.Presents a thorough study of the WCDMA system architecture and key technologies,WCDMA network planning and optimization system3.Used Huawei’s WCDMA core network equipment to achieve a wireless network and core network, and to simulate the whole communication process of WCDMA. Arrange WCDMA micro-network’s configuration, simulation and debugging troubleshooting in the laboratory. Established an effective system of course.
