With the spread of consumerism, the pollution of environment, lackof resources, human survival and development are under threat. Therefore,the reflection of consumption is very important. Re-depth study of theconsumption theory of Marxism, a correct understanding of therelationship between consumption and production, has important practicalsignificance for achieving sustainable development.The research about consumption, carry out in China is not a longtime,but in recent years has been wide concern and attention of theacademic and social aspects. The important role of consumption in thesocial and economic development has been widely recognized. Theconsumption theory of Marxism’s study at domestic mainly from thefollowing aspects: First, explaining connotation or content of Marxismconsumption viewpoint mainly from discriminating production andconsuming in relation. Second, studying Marxism consumption viewpointin the field of theory significance or real value handing concerning aproblem,building rational socialism pattern of consumption,settingup socialism proper consumption concept and so on.Third, studying fromthe aspect that consumption is people’s nature and society’snature.Fourth,understanding and explaining consumption society withMarxism consumption theory.Educational circles abroad is mainly to takeMarxism consumes theory as fundamental argument basis,and to formeconsumption theory of themselves,and doctrine has carried outcomparatively incisive analysis on dissimilation consumption andconsumption or has criticized from diversifying a visual angle,whoseexperience is worthy for us to draw lessons. But from the consume visualangle, the exploration contacting with the overall development of humanbeing nature to consumption is not obvious in Marxism consumptiontheory,and this paper is based on this theoretical foundation andpractical background, in-depth study of the consumption theory of Marxism,combined with our practical, proven the intrinsic link betweenconsumption and comprehensive human development, and find ways to the establishment of a socialist harmonious consumption.The paper is divided into three parts.The first part, an overviewof the Marxism consumption theory.The second part,the development ofthe Marxism consumption theory. Discusses the development of the theoryof Marxism consumption characteristics from the Soviet Union; WesternMarxism Theory of consumption: alienation of consumption and symbolconsumption theory; discusses the inheritance and development of China’sconsumption theory of Marxism. The third part, put forward the idea ofbuilding a socialist harmonious consumption concept in China. Proposedthe specific way: expand consumption、moderate consumption、scientificconsumption、civilized consumption.The innovation performance: first, from the perspective of the peopleof this departure, consumption as a way of human existence that the purposeof consumption is the health of the survival and freedom of development,maintenance and upgrading of the dignity of human life.Second,consumption as a human being, consumption as an isolated act or individualbehavior, but the vision to invest in the society, to look into theproblems faced in modern life, as well as the problems faced by countriesin the consumption by the consumer, such as between human development andeconomic development, to withstand the force of the relationship betweenhuman life and ecological, to seek a harmonious consumption patterns.Third, in order to reflect the consumption of this implication,thearticle uses the concept of harmonious consumption.
