Since the reform and opening up, with the accelerating pace of economicglobalization, the development of the mushroom industry is also growing and isconcerned. As for China, the congenital endowment of mushrooms not only becomes animportant agricultural export product, but also becomes a strong export surplus products, which makes up the deficit of other agricultural products. However, with theaccelerating pace of trade liberalization, our country has continued to encountertechnical barriers of trade after joining WTO, which affects our mushroom production, and appears a sharp decline. For the mushroom industry, there are a lot of factorsaffecting the export of the mushrooms, which mainly include domestic and internationaleconomic situation, higher technical barriers set by other countries, the worldwide tradeprotectionism, industry standards and other factors. These factors make our mushroomexports affected in some degree and make our whole mushroom industry decline, whichnot only influences China’s export income, but also brings some influence to thedevelopment of the mushroom factories. This paper uses the international competitiveness index, mass index, comparativeadvantage to study further comparative advantage in the international market and toexplore the trade structure, the trade scale and trade cost among the trading nations. Anda variety of trade-related indicators are quoted in trade gravity model. With thecombination of qualitative and quantitative methods, we can study various factorsaffecting the export of mushrooms. The main conclusions include the following aspects:(1) China is the world’s largest producer and exporter of mushrooms. TheNetherlands is the second largest exporter of mushrooms. However, the Netherlands hasa bit higher mushroom quality than china. All in all, the international competitiveness ofChinese mushrooms is still strong and the comparative advantage is still obvious.(2) Recently, the technical barriers China corporations suffered in the internationalmarket still exists, so strengthening the standardization of the mushroom export in ourcountry and improving the quality of the mushrooms are also the main preoccupation, only in this way can we deal with the variety of technical barriers better.(3)China’s resource endowment on mushroom production and export share in the international market is still our basic, according to this advantage, our mushroomenterprises should actively develop foreign trade, especially the development of highquality and high value-added products, which is the only way to make the export ofmushrooms be in an absolute advantage in the international market.(4)The rate can influence the export of the products, and they are negativelycorrelated. Real bilateral exchange rate of the two countries can truly react thepurchasing ability between two countries. Exchange rate can affect export of theproducts by affecting export prices. Therefore, for our government and enterprises, making preparations actively of RMB appreciation to prevent the impact of RMBappreciation for exports is one of the things to do.There are two main innovations in this paper, the first innovation is the researchperspective. Mushroom products are one of the important foods in reversing the deficitof agricultural products, but so far, research on domestic and international export tradeof mushrooms is small, It is even fewer to use the qualitative and quantitative method, the combination of theory and practice to study export trade of mushrooms, so thispaper some extent make up the blank of our literature in this area. The secondinnovation is the research content. Based on using some traditional tradecompetitiveness index to analyze the international competitiveness of mushroomproducts and setting up trade gravity model, this paper is to study influencing factors ofmushroom exports. Most Chinese scholars build trade gravity model to study tradebetween two countries and only analyze one agricultural product, which is limited tovegetables, fruits, tea. Studies on mushroom exports combined use of indicators andmodel to analyze are rare in the country. This paper analyzes the export price, technicalbarriers encountered in international market, exchange rates and other important factors,by collecting and calculating the panel data, we get more authentic and credibleconclusions.
