Sourcing Management Study of Appliance Parts of Company A under the Strategy of Global Sourcing

Nowadays it has been in the period of economic globalization, limited resources of theearth are being used to globalize by global sourcing, global manufacturing, global distributionand global marketing. Global sourcing is one of the most important parts of economicglobalization. In such an environment, whether the multinational corporations performseffectively on sourcing management becomes a key part of their company strategies. As theorigin of production and operation management of the company, sourcing has the effect thatcannot underestimate in product quality improving, inventory costs decreasing, market demandfulfilling and even enterprise core competitiveness setting up. Under the circumstance of globalsourcing, higher requirements for such sourcing factors like inventory level, delivery rate andquality of parts are put forward due to the influence of the long lead time, exchange ratefluctuation, raw materials price fluctuation and so on.Company A is one of the global top500enterprises, the Appliance Group is one of itsimportant business group. Appliance Group mainly purchases parts from Asia and Americansuppliers. Parts will be delivered to the factories in America, and products will be sold in Europeand America.This thesis analyses the strategy background and strategies of appliance parts sourcingmanagement of Company A, proposes solution and suggestion about inventory level, deliveryrate and quality of parts, achieves the goal of inventory cost reducing, inventory controloptimizing, delivery rate and quality increasing and sourcing management efficiency improving.
