How Knowledge Spillover of Cluster Leading Enterprises Influence on the Innovation of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises under Multidimensional Proximity

Industry cluster is playing an increasingly important role in the process of regional economic development, and it’s innovation has always been the attention that cluster researchers focus on. There are leading enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises in cluster. The important role that leading enterprises play is self evident, but the number of small and medium-sized enterprise is more in cluster, Therefore, only when the innovation effects of small and medium enterprises have improved, will the whole cluster innovation level rise. Cluster leading enterprises knowledge spillover and small and medium-sized enterprises absorptive capacity play an important role of small and medium-sized enterprises innovation, but if it is a sufficient condition or not, academic circles have not form a unified opinion.Now, a new perspective about cluster innovation called Dimensions of Proximity was produced in academia, with a view to explore the innovation performance which was produced by the mutual influence between the enterprises in industrial cluster.First of all, from the view of organizational proximity and cognitive proximity, this article combines the basic elements of leading enterprises knowledge spillover and the absorptive capacity of small and medium-sized enterprise, as a key to analysis the influence mechanism of small and medium-sized enterprises innovation performance which was influenced by leading enterprises knowledge spillover in cluster under organizational proximity and absorptive capacity of small and medium-sized enterprise in cluster considering cognitive proximity, and then put forward five hypothesis. Then this paper adopts the questionnaire data of electronic information industry clusters in Changsha city, using factor analysis, reliability analysis, partial degrees and kurtosis to test availability and reliability of the questionnaire data. Finally Structural Equation Model (SEM) was used to model step by step and AMOS software was used to draw and to calculate influence standardized path coefficients and significance level between the variables, using the empirical results to test five theoretical assumptions.Through the theoretical mechanism analysis and empirical test, this paper draw the following conclusions:firstly, knowledge spillover of cluster leading enterprises has significant positive influence on small and medium-sized enterprises innovation performance; Secondly, Knowledge spillover considering organizational proximity between cluster leading enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises has significant positive influence on innovation performance, and the influence effect is stronger; thirdly, absorptive capacity of small and medium-sized clusters has significant positive influence on small and medium-sized enterprises innovation performance; fourthly, absorptive capacity considering cognitive proximity between cluster leading enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises has significant positive influence on innovation performance, and the influence effect is stronger; finally, knowledge spillover and absorptive capacity considering organizational proximity&cognitive proximity have significant positive influence innovation performance, or this kind of influence is stronger then the influence of the innovation performance affect by knowledge overflow considering organizational proximity or absorptive capacity considering cognitive proximity. At last, this paper proposes some policy recommendations to promote the innovation performance of small business and even the whole cluster.
