Study on Relationships among Personality Characteristics,Entrepreneurship Environment in Universities and Students’Entrepreneurial Intention

Along with the economic globalization and the era of knowledge economy, entrepreneurship has become a new trend in employment within the world. Because entrepreneurshipnot only can increase employment opportunities, alleviate employment pressure,but also maintain the level of employment.In recent years,with the growing number of college graduates gradually,the pressure of employment is increasing.How to solve the employment problem of college students has become the focus of public concern.Undoubtedly,to encourage students to start an undertaking is an effective method. However, related data shows that only a few college students start their self-employment in china.To explore the entrepreneurial intention and its influencing factors of college students who are the main force of potential entrepreneurs is helpful to promote the students to start their own business.Based on the relevant literature,this paper mainly discussed the influence of personality characteristics and the entrepreneurial environment of university on entrepreneurial intention of college students.Meanwhile,this study introduced the concept of entrepreneurial self-efficacy to construct theoretical model about the relationship among personality characteristics,university entrepreneurial environment, entrepreneurial self-efficacy and students’entrepreneurial intention. Then,we used statistical analysis tools such as SPSS20.0and LISREL8.8,to verify the proposed hypotheses.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The mainly personality characteristics of college students in china such as the high need for achievement,risk-taking tendency and self-motived,have a significant positive impact on their entrepreneurial self-efficacy;(2)There is a significant positive correlation between university entrepreneurial environment and students’entrepreneurial self-efficacy.Therefore,perfect entrepreneurship education system and university entrepreneurial environment can improve students’entrepreneurial self-efficacy and their entrepreneurial intention;(3)Students’ ESE construct including three dimensions,such as innovation,opportunity identification and management, has a significant positive predictor on their entrepreneurial intention;(4) ESE has a partial mediated effect in the impact of risk-taking tendency and university entrepreneurial environment on students’entrepreneurial intention.At the same time,ESE has a complete intermediary effect in the impact of high need for achievement and autonomy on students’entrepreneurial intention;(5)There are significant differences in the entrepreneurial intention among students with different background factors:boys’entrepreneurial intention was much higher than girls,students who major economics and management has a higher entrepreneurial intention than others,undergraduates’entrepreneurial intention is higher than graduates,those students whose parents have entrepreneurial experience or who can get more help from the family prefer to start their own businesses.At last, based on the results of empirical analysis, this paper provides some suggestions in order to complete the entrepreneurship education system of university,to create a good entrepreneurial environment,to cultivate the students’ comprehensive quality,to improve their entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention.Also,this paper put forward some limitations of this study and research expectation.
