A Study on in Quiry Learning for Music Education in Normal University

Inquiry learning is a new and high-level learning model evolved from the essential-qualities-oriented education, which stresses the cultivation of students’creativity of the mind and hands-on abilities. Developing students’creativity of the mind and hands-on abilities is considered as the core of the essential-qualities-oriented education. It is a great change of national educational ideology. Meanwhile, it is also a significant breakthrough of national educational reform and development. A lot of reforms of music education have been carried out since Music Curriculum Standards was promulgated in 2001. In order to meet the reform of music curriculum, many universities have conducted a lot of reforms. Inquiry learning proposed in Music Curriculum Standards plays a significant role in the reform of music education in normal university. For music education majors in normal university, inquiry learning is not only a new course or learning model, but it is also a reform of educational ideology, teaching model and learning model. Moreover, it is helpful for students’life-long development. Under the background of educational reform, it is a historical necessity to apply inquiry learning into the music eduction teaching process in normal university.The paper applies literature research, questionnaire, interview and other methodologies. The subjects are music education from three normal university in Shenyang of Liaoning Province. According to the questionnaires and interviews for the students teachers and graduates in the normal university, the paper attempts to reflect and deeply study the application of inquiry learning and students’feedback and feelings in the recent years. What’s more, the researcher tries to collect and analyse data, and then tries to summarize analysis of forming fators of inquiry learning in music education in normal university. And the paper tries to study how to improve the application of inquiry learning in music education.
