The application fields and production process of the rutile titanium dioxide were summarized. The domestic rutile titanium dioxide was mainly middle level and low level. The high level production need be imported. To replace the imported rutile titanium dioxide, we improve the rutile titanium dioxide production process.The surface Rutile tiatnium general process uses jet mill to prevent veunion. The article propose that adding the appropiate surface treatment agent by vibration grinding. We can reduce costs in this way.This paper works on the influence of the organic surface treatment and grind size of the rutile titanium dioxide, including dispersion、oil absorption value、and hiding power. The mechanism how the organic compound improves the dispersion of the rutile titanium dioxide in water medium was discussed. The water dispersion of titanium dioxide was used to evaluate the effect of the organic surface treatment. The result show that:The type and amount of dispersing agent, pH, particle size and particle size distribution affect the rutile titanium dioxide’s water persion. The water dispersion impact the oil absorption and hiding power. The experiments show that we can achieve the desired dispersion by selecting the appropriate dispersants、grinding aids and controlling the slurry pH. The rutitle titanium dioxide water dispersion can improve the oil absorption and hiding power.Finally, through the vibration grinding drily coat the titanium dioxide replace the wet coating of industrial production. We improve the performance of rutile titanium dioxide based on saving energy.
