Energy resource and environment protection are primal problems to be faced with. The development of new alternative energy is one of the effective means of solving fuel consumption and reduced pollution. Among these, emulsified oil is taken as a powerful tool for the reduction of fuel consumption and pollution. Span80 as oleophilic emulsifier (percent 90 of emulsifier weight), tween80 as hydrophilic emulsifier (percent 10 of emulsifier weight), and other addition agent were mixed together to form emulsified fuel provided to S195 diesel enginee. The advance fuel supply angle, the air valve gape, and the fuel pressure were used as influencing factors for an orthogonal experiment to test the performance and the smoke intensity of S195. The power, fuel consumption and smoke intensity were used as evaluation indices and covariance analysis was used for the determination of the optimal parameters of the engine. Depending on the tested result, the engine’s power, economy and discharge were compared.The tested result shown that, for S195 diesel engine, the optimized parameters led to a little reduced power output but a significantly improved economy and discharge, which confirmed its energy saving and pollution reduction effect. This result will serve as a basis for the emulsified fuel use on S195 engine.
