Secondary water supply generally used in high-rise building’s living water supply system, because of the high-rise building has many characteristics, such as multiple stories, great height, high demand for water supply and so on,so the standard of design, construction and management for the water supply engineering is accordingly higher. With the increasing of the height, the energy consumption is gradually growing, When the shortage problem of global energy is becoming more prominent, the energy saving and optimization of secondary supply has become a research hotspot.Traditional technology of secondary water supply has two drawbacks, the first one is always be secondary pollution, the other one is the remainder pressure of the municipal pipe network water not be used. pressure-superpositional method of water supply make pipeline that from the water plant to the taps to be a closed system, so it have completely avoided the secondary pollution from the outside world, and had energy saving effect through the use of the municipal pipe network’s remainder pressure. The pressure-superpositional method of water supply has been widely used at a global scale in recent years, and it will become the dominant technology of Secondary water supply system. In order to achieved the goal of energy conservation and optimization of secondary water supply system, based on previous research achievements, this paper studies the living water supply system of high-rise building, analysis systematically the energy consumption characteristics of traditional technology of secondary water supply system, focus on the pumps’ application and energy-saving effect of network pressure-superposed water supply system. Based on the theoretical analysis and the compare with the frequency-conversion and speed-adjusting water supply method ,the expression of energy-saving ratio of network pressure-superposition water supply method relative to frequency-conversion and speed-adjusting water supply method was proposed. The flow and head range of pump effective operation and the method of selected and operated reasonably of pumps were pmposed to.
