The multinational retailers overseas operating performance and the cross-border transfer of knowledge are closely related. Retail knowledge from the home country to the host country, the transfer of the success or failure of the relationship to the development of the host country subsidiaries. Explore the problem of transnational retail enterprises operating overseas from the angle of knowledge transfer, a prerequisite for effective knowledge transfer is the retail business of overseas expansion. However, it the the retail transnational knowledge transfer is not easy, the transfer process will encounter difficulties, because knowledge adhesion, will to some extent affect the quality of the cross-border transfer. This article will cause knowledge is not easy to transfer factors are summarized as \and the national cultural distance. These factors together caused adverse cross-border transfer of knowledge between the parent and subsidiary companies. Seek some method to reduce the adhesion of knowledge is the essential means of transnational retail enterprises to improve transfer performance, from the organization of social capital to start a study, trying to find its subsidiaries in the host country's social capital accumulation in to reduce knowledge adhesion to facilitate cross-border retail knowledge transfer between the role of the corporate parent and subsidiary companies. In order to improve the study of typical and convincing, this article select the world's largest stores in China largest multinational retailers Wal-Mart, the operating subsidiary of Wal-Mart in China as a case analysis, research knowledge adhesion factors on retail knowledge the impact of cross-border transfer, at the same time explore the to organize social capital transfer to play a regulatory role in the retail knowledge between the parent and subsidiary companies. The research method mainly literature research and case studies, the study aims realistic case analysis, to provide a basis for the overseas operations of multinational retailers, retail enterprises overseas subsidiaries to transfer knowledge from the mother country, and how to improve through the accumulation of social capital transfer performance to find a way out. According to the results of case studies, the main findings of this paper include: (a) cross-border retail enterprises should strive to overcome the knowledge within a recessive trait, to improve the knowledge transfer performance. (B) transnational retail enterprises must improve the absorptive capacity of the subsidiary, in order to improve the knowledge transfer performance. (C) transnational retail enterprises should be aware of the impact of national culture distance on knowledge transfer, knowledge transfer to improve performance. (D) The organization of social capital has a moderating effect in the cross-border transfer of knowledge process, is a powerful factor accelerate knowledge transfer performance, attention must be paid.
