In this study, 30 English learners explore Charts - word interference paradigm Frequency Effect ( or word familiarity ) effect . Experiments take the 2 × 2 ( semantic relationship × word frequency ) within design . Reached a conclusion consistent with the relevant research results : semantically related noise word interference effect is greater than the noise word semantic independent . However, in the context of foreign language learning , we found no effect of the so-called semantic promote . Our study shows a significant main effect of semantic relations and word frequency and the interaction between the two , high - frequency ( or high familiarity ) noise word interference effect is greater than the low-frequency ( or low familiarity ) noise word . Therefore , the high-frequency ( or high familiarity ) words in speech production process has been a high level of activation , taking up more resources for implementation of the objectives and tasks : low-frequency ( or low familiarity ) word language learners familiarity lower associated Lenovo less , so the interference is reduced .
