At present, the powerful conveyor belt has become the indispensable transportation equipment in the fields of mines, ports, plant and cement production. Because of its load quantity increased, scratched by the barrier, aging and connectors vulcanization non-standard ,it is easy to happen wire rope core rust, fracture or connector elongation and other faults. Once the fault happened,it will cause serious safety accidents even stop production ,bring huge economic damage and casualties, seriously affecting the safety in production. Therefore need a powerful conveyor belt nondestructive testing system, real-time detecting the operation status of conveyor belt, discover faults in time and process it, to ensure the reliable safety operation and avoid serious accident happen.This paper design a detector of X-ray powerful conveyor belt nondestructive testing system. Put forward the design scheme of detector based on FPGA + ARM; adopt the high performance-to-price ratio FPGA chip Spartan - 3E of Xilinx company and ARM chip S3C2440A using 32-bit RISC processors launched by Samsung, design the hardware circuit of detector; use ISE platform to design the FPGA program of detector, realize the acquisition and processing to the image signal of X-ray powerful conveyor belt wire rope core; use ADS embedded development tools to design the ARM program of detector, including main program and Ethernet communication program, and realize the Ethernet communication between detector and superordination machine. Through the final experiment and debugging, it meet the design requirements.The detector can realize the real-time acquisition, processing and transmission to image signal of powerful conveyor belt wire rope core, and it has many advantages such as detection speed is faster, good real-time performance, high reliability. Not only applicable to online nondestructive testing of powerful conveyor belt , and can be used in nondestructive testing of logistics goods and high-speed operation product, it has the very high application value.
