Mine maps of CAD format are very important information resources in production and construction of coal mining enterprises. With the rapid development of the Internet, mine maps are advanced to be widely used on the network. Traditional CAD graphic files are usually with a larger volume, and depending on the specific graphics platform, and the file formats are completely different under different graphics platform. All of these make the network application of mine maps difficult. In order to solve the problem of mine map graphics data communication and switching between different systems, a compatible Mine map Graphics Markup Language (MGML) and the transform mechanism between SVG and MGML is constructed in this paper based on SVG standard, to achieve the maximum utilization and sharing of mine map spatial data. The specific works as following.Firstly, this paper studying the graphics character of the mine map, analyzing AutoCAD Data Format and SVG standard, a graphics element classification and relative object model is established based on those. Then this paper constructs the Mine map Graphics Markup Language with the instruction of visualization object model and finishes the vocabulary definition and grammatical rules of this markup language. Further more, this paper realizes the database storage model related to MGML after a further study on managing XML Documents using RDBMS, and corresponding database table structure is constructed. And lastly, in this paper the mine map conversion interface from DXF format to MGML format is realized, and web display and publish of MGML mine map is completed with XSLT and SVG techniques.This paper focuses on propose and design the mine map data exchange model which is based on XML, and use it as a neutral document to achieve the mine map data exchange and publish.This paper has solved the practical problems existed in mine map network applications through many kinds of researches and exploitures, providing reference of spatial data format for the information system construction of coal mining enterprise, especially in Web GIS.
