Over the past ten years, with China’s industry developed in a fast speed, plastic pipe industry also boosted vigorously, ten-year’s increasing up to 300%. The development of pipe extrusion equipments advances the plastic pipe industry in certain degree, however, the conventional extrusion equipments is hard to satisfy the increasing market requirement. Thus, a new pipe extrusion line, which adopts low-speed, large-torque AC servo motor, resolve this problem that the conventional extrusion equipments owns, such as complex structure, bulk mass, uneasy installation and maintenance, big noise,etc. The new extrusion equipments featured like high in transmission efficiency, low in energy consumption, and high in extrusion precision. Since the unceasing development and gradually maturing of technology, servo motor manufacturing process and cost is lowering down, thereby, new extrusion equipments is going to become the mainstream of the plastic extrusion industry.By analysis the structure of conventional extrusion equipment, we redesigned the new extrusion equipments, such as in extruder main screw aspect, low-speed large-torque AC servo motor is adopted; in logic control aspect, Siemens 300 PLC control system is adopted. By PLC calculation, rotating speed of motor is perfectly controlled, By PID calculation, heating and cooling is properly controlled, and cutting length is precise controlled. Application of Siemens WinCCflexible for the HMI programming, equipment monitoring, maintenance and data storage is effectively proceeded.The structure of extrusion equipments, hard ware and soft ware design of the pipe extrusion line and HMI inspection screen of control system are emphasized in this paper. Finally, described the commissioning steps, furthermore, comparing the new extrusion equipments with the conventional equipment, we get the prominent advantage of the new extrusion equipment in energy consumption aspect. Over a year’s design, development, commissioning, and clients’ application, it is feedback that everything runs good, and creats the commercial benefit for the enterprises.
