The cyclone grit chamber and Hydropower Engineering gravel wastewater treatment process is a very important structures, but found in the long - term practical application of the process , because the cyclone grit chamber there is a severe blockage of sludge facilities , damage , and generated sediment difficult to deal with other issues , making the gravel wastewater treatment system to and disabled often due to blockage or silt death , and this gives a great deal of sand and gravel wastewater treatment difficult . In this paper , based on computational fluid dynamics ( CFD Computational Fluid Dynamics ) numerical simulation of the cyclone grit chamber to provide an effective theoretical basis , in order to improve the handling capacity of the cyclone grit chamber and optimize the design of the cyclone grit chamber . In this paper, a mathematical model of the the cyclone grit tanks solid-liquid two-phase flow were used to model Euler - Lagrange and Euler - Euler model , the cyclone grit chamber used in the calculation of the sliding mesh . First , combined with small scale experiments , the primary treatment the cyclone grit tanks two - phase flow field , the suspended solids concentration distribution , particle movements in three-dimensional numerical simulation , the core idea of the small- scale experimental particle size fractionation to remove , that is , two stage cyclone grit chamber series process , its main purpose is to improve the particle removal efficiency and easy handling of the sediment . The purpose of the first stage is to remove the coarse particles of gravel Wastewater easy to handle , and results showed that : a swirl the grit chamber in 105rap/min speed conditions , out of the water substantially free of particle size greater than 50μm , coarse particles of sand . stone , the coarse particles are substantially separated ; within the experimental range , the level vortex grit removal efficiency decreases with increasing blade speed analog to seven speed conditions the removal efficiency of 40.28% , respectively , 29.56% , 23.75% , 20.82% , 18.5% , 17.29% , 15.26% , and by comparative analysis with the test results to verify the simulation results reliability. Second , we use the model on the the Pubugou engineering simulation , the idea of small pilot plant stage treatment , the original grit chamber as the first stage cyclone grit chamber , the sand basin blade speed and blade the position has been optimized , the results showed that : when the blade speed r = 105rap/min blade position z = 592mm , can effectively remove the coarse particles in the gravel in the wastewater , the cyclone grit chamber to achieve the best separation .
