In this paper, the method of ultrasonic vibration assisted brazing successful connection of the glass . By scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy spectrum analyzer ( EDAX ) , X - ray diffraction (XRD) analysis of the microstructure of the glass joints and interface morphology were observed and analyzed . Explanation of the physical phenomena appearing in the ultrasonic brazing glass , to clarify the mechanism of the connection , and to create a physical model of the ultrasonic brazing glass . In the strict control of the heating , the cooling rate under the premise , using pure Zn and pure Sn as a filler material able to achieve the connection of the glass / Al The former brazing seam ( Zn ) by alpha - Al solid solution body ( Zn Al ) eutectoid [ eta - Zn ( Zn Al ) eutectoid ] eutectic structure constituted ; which brazing seam block by sonication of pure Al , Sn - Al eutectic Sn solid solution and beta - both the glass side of the interface is very straight , no diffusion , dissolution phenomenon . Comprehensive experimental results and theoretical analysis that the brazing process , the ultrasonic vibration for liquid metal sealing ; ultrasonic cavitation and JET , caulking forefront of liquid metal to elevated temperature and pressure projection to the surface of the base metal and base metal close contact, thereby improving the wettability of the base material with the brazing material ; the presence of the bond breaking of the glass surface , so that a combination of E- glass and metal ; XRD results show that the Al and the glass there is a reaction , Zn may be provided with the glass reacts at the solid-liquid interface cavitation can form a local high temperature and high pressure environment , any chemical reaction can occur , namely: the combination of reaction between the glass and the solder ; ultrasonic cavitation and jet effect of the solid-liquid interface at the glass surface state changes , not only increased the off the number of keys , so that the combination of more compact , and forming a mechanical occlusion effect , to increase the connection strength . Connection of glass and metal can be described as : electronic combination play a major role , combined with local reactions and mechanical occlusion effect play an enhanced role . Sn-Zn alloy ultrasonic brazing glass / Al forming the connection interface and the glass remains Sn -based alloy ; strong interaction between Zn , Al , hinder the interaction between the Sn and Zn, Al , Zn element added played no to enhance the glass and metal combined with the effect of the interfacial strength . Improve glass quality of the connection lies in the optimization of the glass -to-metal connection interface .
