Research of Increase the Slag Resistance Function of Magnesia Carbon Brick by Changeding Graphite

In order to prolong the service life of magnesia carbon brick which using in the slag line of ladle , we deal with the graphite with sulphuric acid and nitric acid ,and put the changed graphite into the brick, we study the effects of different quantity of the expanded graphite on the bulk density, apparent porosity, compressive strength at room temperature, bending strength at high temperature, thermal expansion and slag resistance,and using polarzation microscope to analyze the microstructure of the sample.The result showed that: a little changed graphite of magnesia carbon brick have a little negative affect to the performance,but the changed graphite at high temperature can remedy the matrix contraction and crack between the bricks, thereby increasing the slag resistance; when the quantity of changed graphite is 0.6%,the crack between aggregate and matrix is narrowest, the slag resistance is best.
