Substation is one of the crucial part of the power system. It has a direct effect on the reliability and economy of the system. Thus, the technicians have paid much attention to the secondary apparatus which has close relation with the operation of the substation rather than the primary apparatus. Especially, in terms of the monitoring or effective control of the temperature of the device coupler of the substation, there’s no sound platform which can help to monitor, handle, give feedback at the same time to keep pace with the monitoring data.Aimed at the above problems, the article studies the temperature monitoring system of device coupler of the substation on the foundation of the present temperature measuring technology in order to guarantee the safe operation of the transformer and improve the durability of the device. Combined with the huge storage, swift search of the computer database, this temperature monitoring system makes full use of the popular wireless temp-measuring method so that it can provide the temperature of the primary apparatus at any time, inform the abnormal conditions by a warning box, and react in place of man to reduce the loss. Moreover, the substation staff can improve their management of the electricity supply and make rational maintenance plan of the apparatus by analysing the temperature data.Under the circumstance of worsening of the electricity overload, this article focuses on the monitoring and control of the coupler temperature in the substation. Based on the analysis of the current method of data sampling and the key point of the wireless communication, the article puts forward methods like initializing the orientation of the coupler or some other main parts, adding couplers after overhaul and so on. The paper selects 1-WIRE digital temperature sensor which is produced by Dallas as it sensor and adopts the Zigbee wireless net communication as its temp-monitoring technology. On the basis of the temperature data collection, maintenance record, load changes, infrared emission rate, the paper invents a software and constructs a sampling model to achieve several functions such as off-limit alarm, reports production, data saving and extraction especially the right judgement and active handling by the system alone in emergencies.The paper illustrates how to design a software by Visual C++ and access to realize elaborate and thorough control of the temperature of the device coupler in the substation. The software mainly includes six parts: paramount interface, data collecting system, temperature measuring system, temperature storage system, off-limit alarm system/reports producing system/data extracting system, active handling system, etc.
