In the information society services for communications networks growing demand today, increasingly restricting access network development of the entire network, to become the bottleneck of the information superhighway. Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) technology because of its high speed, high efficiency, and transparent multi-service transport, etc. and is considered an effective next-generation broadband access network solutions. GPON standard by the ITU-T G.984 series protocol specification. G.984.1 GPON system mainly regulates the general requirements; G.984.2 GPON system main standardized physical media dependent layers (PMD); G.984.3 GPON system mainly regulates the transmission convergence (TC) layer; G.984.4 main specification the GPON system management and control interface. Although the G.984 series of agreements on GPON system carried out a detailed specification, but the agreement does not provide for GPON system dynamic bandwidth allocation method. Efficient dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm can make the system bandwidth can be fully utilized, and can cause a variety of business needs a reasonable QOS bandwidth allocation. Therefore, the use of network simulation software platform built according to protocol specification, and on this platform for network performance simulation and analysis of algorithms is essential. Network simulation technology is a network device through the establishment, link and protocol model to simulate the transmission of network traffic, access to network design or optimize the network performance data needed for simulation. OPNET network simulation software provides a wealth of agreements, equipment model library and a powerful network analysis tools, you can easily visualize the simulation platform, system performance analysis and simulation to study the network technology, and the existing network optimization. The first chapter outlines the evolution of the access network, leads to the current advanced access network technology GPON, comparing three network simulation software OPNET selected as the project development tool. In the second chapter, according to the protocol describes the theoretical basis of GPON network systems, analysis of the existing three kinds of dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm advantages and disadvantages involved in the design of the \two kinds of improved algorithms. In the third chapter, the analysis of the GPON system registration process, the completion of the system components, process design, and for different types of data sources, business modeling, and describes the dynamic bandwidth allocation method. Chapter IV is the focus of this article, on OPNET simulation software After a brief introduction, a detailed description of GPON based on OPNET network simulation platform to build process, and the final chapter gives several dynamic bandwidth allocation algorithm for the simulation platform simulation analysis of results.
