Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, OFDM) is a multi -carrier modulation and multiplexing , in today's wireless communications much attention as a physical layer transmission scheme . However, in the realization of OFDM system , there are many difficulties , such as a carrier wave synchronization , with a high peak to average power ratio and channel estimation . This thesis focuses on pilot OFDM channel estimation techniques do some research. Paper first describes some of the background and basic knowledge related , including OFDM system overview and wireless communication system channel characteristics . OFDM system overview section discusses the emergence and development of OFDM , OFDM system, the basic model and its advantages and disadvantages. Then for channel modeling , analyzing wireless communications common multipath channel model, and leads to the channel bandwidth of the relevant time and related concepts . Secondly, based on pilot OFDM channel estimation techniques to carry out theoretical studies and simulation. Implements a two-dimensional MMSE channel estimation algorithms, and multi-path delay for the channel under the conditions of a larger pilot insertion issues in-depth comparative study . From the simulation results can be compared to a variety of pilot insertion pros and cons , but also for the subsequent project implementation has laid an important theoretical basis. Third , the application of FPGA implementation of OFDM systems based on pilot channel estimation module . In this section , briefly introduces the FPGA hardware design ideas , the detailed description of the channel estimation module and the 1024-point FFT module design ideas, as well as the output of the system block diagram , and hardware resource consumption made ​​some comparison .
