On the Curriculum Provision for Education Master in the Perspective of Sino-US Comparison

Curriculum is the basic and core for educational activities, the reasonable curriculum provision plays an important role in improving the quality of cultivating master graduate. Basing on selecting four universities from China and the United States respectively, this paper describes its master graduate’s course of the college of education in two countries. And then, by comparing the course of two countries on the five aspects of course including idea, goal, structure, contents and implementation, it is found that there are some problems in curriculum provision of our country. That is, course’s system overemphasis on knowledge ignoring research method; course content is hysteresis and repeatability as well as curriculum provision is overspecialized and quantity of optional courses are rather limited. Meanwhile, by comparing the course of two countries, the factors that affect curriculum provision can be concluded, that is. level orientation, training mode and construction of tutor’s team. With the internationalization of education, although there is difference between China and the United States in the idea of curriculum provision for master of pedagogy, the developmental trend of curriculum is consistent. In order to solve the problem of curriculum provision in our country, on the one hand, there are some advantages of curriculum provision in the United States which can be made use of;on the other hand, according to the situation of our country, six suggestions can be taken for curriculum provision.
