In the field of study of false memory, researchers have found that there are varying degrees of impact of individual differences on false memory effect. In recent years, researchers began to pay more attention to emotions and individual differences in the impact of false memories. The status quo in terms of the present study, individual differences on false memories are more concentrated in such as age, gender, personality traits, pressure. Previous studies have shown that different neurotic trait individual differences in the error memory effect, high neuroticism individuals in the memory process, showed greater preference information to have negative emotions color; low neuroticism individuals who have positive emotions show more color preferences. The researchers found that emotional in error memory process, there is a certain impact on the individual error memory. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore different neurotic traits of individuals in different emotional states and emotion regulation, based on the word error memory effect on the existence of differences The study consists of three experiments: The first experiment investigated of different neurotic trait individual differences in word-based error memory, using a 2 × 3 factor mixed design, independent variables as neurotic traits (high neuroticism, low neuroticism), the emotional vocabulary (positive emotion words, negative emotional vocabulary, neutral emotional vocabulary), neurotic trait variables between the two groups, the emotional vocabulary for the group variable. The second experiment investigated high neuroticism, low neuroticism individual differences in different mood states false memories. 2 × 2 × 3 three-factor mixed design, independent variables neurotic traits (high neuroticism, low neuroticism) induced emotional state (positive emotional state, negative emotional state), the emotional vocabulary (positive emotion words, negative emotions vocabulary neutral emotional vocabulary). The neurotic trait variables between groups induced emotional state of the group variable emotional vocabulary for the group within variable. The third experiment examines the negative emotional state, high neuroticism, low neuroticism individuals in different emotion regulation under the false memory differences. 2 × 2 × 3 three-factor mixed design, independent variables neurotic traits (high neuroticism, low neuroticism), emotion regulation (expression catharsis, expression suppression), emotional words (positive emotion words, negative emotion vocabulary, neutral emotional vocabulary ), which neurotic traits variables between the two groups, emotion regulation group variable emotional vocabulary for the group variable. The results show that: (1) the state of nature, neurotic traits affect false memories exist. High neuroticism were more sensitive to negative emotional information, low neuroticism were more sensitive to positive emotional information. (2) the different induced emotional state of the individual differences in the effects of false memories. High neurotic individuals, low neurotic individuals, compared with a negative emotional state in a positive emotional state will produce more false memories. The difference is that the high neurotic individuals are more sensitive to negative emotional information, low neuroticism individuals are more sensitive to positive emotional information. (3) different emotion regulation, individual differences in false memory effect. Expression catharsis group of subjects showed more positive emotional vocabulary false memories, while the the expression suppression group of subjects in a negative emotional vocabulary showed more false memories.
