Research on Analysis of Elastic-plastic Seismic Response of Reinforced Concrete Mega-Frame Structure

Mega-frame structure has a unique load-resist system with twice-force transferring character, which can not only help improve structural integrity and security, reduce material consumption and construction cost, but also can bring more flexibility in architectural design. However, different forms of structural component have different influences on seismic performance of the whole mega-frame. In view of this feature, the paper made a study on seismic performance of mega-frame in different forms of giant component.Program SAP2000 was applied here to carry dynamic elastic-plasticity analysis, on which based a comparative study was put forward adopting solid-web giant component and hollow giant component to the selected mega-frame structure. Furthermore, a further study was made on seismic performance and damage mechanism of mega-frame structure in different giant construction measures. Results show that mega-frame with hollow giant column possesses a better anti-lateral-shift compared with the one with solid-web giant column in the seismic performance. However, the giant beam and column joint in the mega-frame with hollow giant column is relatively weak under rare earthquakes. Therefore, seismic measures need to be strengthened when giant column adopted the hollow form is applied to the engineering.To understand the influence of the form of giant beam on the mega-frame structure, the hollow giant beam and solid giant beam were presented in this paper. According to analysis of elastic-plastic seismic response of the two models, the paper draws a conclusion that both the two models basically conform to three-level anti-seismic principle. Moreover, the mega-frame system adopting the hollow giant beam can not effectively reduce the lateral shift of the structure comparing with the one adopting the solid-web form.According to the above analysis, mega-frame system adopting hollow giant column can effectively reduce the lateral shift of the structure comparing with the one with adopting hollow giant beam.
