Asphalt pavement recycling is a inevitable course of the sustainable development of highway construction, which plays a positive role in preventing pollution, protecting environment and conserving resources by recycling Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement(RAP).In this paper, based on a rehabilitation of a freeway in GuangDong Province, a deep and wide research was carried out on construction technology and its quality control measures of hox mix plant recycling asphalt pavement. At the same time, the technology was also applied to practical project on the basis of experiment research and the project quality was systematically tested and verified.First, the application assessment systems and indicators reflecting the overall situation were established in order to reproduce strategies and programmes. A suitable application and testing methods of recycled asphalt on construction site was brought up. Recycled asphalt content and penetration of new asphalt could be choosd by linear relationship of penetration logarithms of reclaimed asphalt, penetration logarithms of recycled asphalt and penetration logarithms of new asphalt.Design and evaluation methods of recycling mixs on construction site were established and a suitable RAP proportion should be preliminarily determined based on actual requirement. When aging degree of asphalt is higher, the proportion of RAP should be controlled. Water damage of recycling mixtures should be considered to prevent. Technology of mixing, paving and rolling recycled asphalt mixes adapt to the civil engineering are finally developed.Based on scientifically valid evaluation of applicability of the old pavement recycling, the reclaimed asphalt pavement, whose performance was the same as or better than corresponding ordinary ones, could be paved by developing appropriate program of hot mix plant recycling pavement, adopting strict design and performance test of recycling asphlalt and asphlalt mixtures, and taking necessary quality control measures. The promotion of the hot mix plant recycling technologies could not only guarantee the quality of high-grade road construction, but also help to achieve greater benefits.
