All-optical packet switching network can effectively solve the problem of huge transmission and switching bandwidth does not match the optical communication network, the direction of the future development of optical switching. As optical packet exchanges between network nodes at key processing devices, optical buffer is a research hotspot in recent years. Based on micro-ring resonator (referred to as micro-ring) buffer is compatible with CMOS processes, delay adjustable, compact structure, the cost of a small advantage much attention. In this paper, based on micro-ring optical buffer technology, theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, the main work includes the following aspects: (1) analysis of the simulation and design method of micro-ring, including the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method and transmission The basic principle of the matrix method and calculation process. Based on the above method, the simulation and analysis of the intensity and phase characteristics of the download type micro ring and all pass type microring output light field, and gives the definition and expression of the characteristic parameters of the micro-ring. (2) Based on the transfer matrix method, derived through micro ring output light intensity of the light field and delay the expression analysis of slow light, only to get over microring coupled state, calculations indicate that the delay bandwidth product The theoretical upper limit of 2 / π; discussed microring when the delay of the input optical signal, the relationship between the amount of crosstalk and signal delay between adjacent bits. (3) propose a novel cyclic double microring cascade structure, and the establishment of a mathematical model of the structure using the transfer matrix method. Analysis: When double micro-ring is the same, the device several typical spectrum showed similar electromagnetic induced transparency of linear and dual high-Q transmission peak; dual microring detuning the device is able to greatly enhance the loss harmonic double micro-ring slow light effect, and the device need not fine detuning rather more suitable for actual production. The article also detailed analysis of the impact of the loss and coupling coefficient of the delay characteristics of the device. (4) micro-ring structure with a mirror, the establishment of a mathematical model of the structure using the transfer matrix method. The rational design of waveguide length, the structure can exhibit optical resonant induced transparency spectrum. First, the model of the simple mirror, to derive the relationship between the spectral splitting and microring and mirror parameters; then based on the Bragg grating, a dielectric multilayer film theory, simulation and analysis after the delay characteristics of a Bragg grating with microring cascade ; on this basis, the design of the waveguide structure of the grating and microring, and 2D-FDTD method to verify the structure of the spectral response.
