The development of CAD / CAPP technology , is currently promoting the important aspects of the manufacturing information . In recent years, the rapid development and application of computer - aided design technology makes it increasingly urgent requirements of CAD / CAPP integration , parametric modeling technology and automatic feature recognition has become a hot research field . The main theory for research and analysis of parametric modeling and automatic feature extraction , and secondary development based on PRO / E platform , parametric modeling of three-dimensional parts and characteristics extraction . This paper studies the theory of parametric modeling , analysis and comparison of several commonly used modeling techniques to determine the characteristics based on Pro / E design . Explore the Pro / E secondary development tools , especially the features of Pro / Program , developed based on Pro / Program parametric modeling process , and applied to involute straight tooth cylindrical gear design parameters . Secondly, the characteristics of the three-dimensional parts information extraction technology to extract the basic theory in Pro / E environment characteristics , and detailed analysis of the role of the manufacturing feature library to extract feature information into instances . In-depth study of the functional and procedural characteristics of the development of Pro / Toolkit , to explore the key technology for the development of Pro / E feature extraction capabilities ; combination of Pro / Toolkit programming framework and work mode designed parts feature extraction process . Interface connection and create ProO / E and VS2008 development platform environment based on the use of Pro / Toolkit development resources , the preparation of the parts of the feature extraction application , basic process size , tolerance characteristics , the surface roughness degree manufacturing feature extraction .
