Wireless sensor networks is a huge number of tiny sensors by the nodes of the network system,this technology has become the focus of scientific research institutions in various countries study.The technology has very broad application prospects,authoritative magazines and media evaluation of its appearance is considered to change the future way of life,high-tech sector one of the 10 leading technology.Media access control(MAC) protocols has been a research focus in wireless sensor networks one of the areas.Because MAC protocols that support the wireless sensor network protocol,in addition to the random distribution of the agreement to establish data communication links of nodes outside,there is also one of the most important features is how to control access node on a shared communication medium.Since there is a huge difference between wireless sensor network and traditional wireless networks,therefor it is not possible to existing wireless network MAC protocol applied directly to the sensor network,according to the characteristics of the sensor network MAC Protocol to design a new.In view of Wireless Sensor Network in energy consume and throughout capacity question,this paper presents a new MAC protocol energy efficient improvements,the improvement agreement introduces the power control strategy in the original SMAC agreement’s foundation.Through the power control algorithm,the node dynamically choose the appropriate power value as part of its transmission power in the power rank table stored in each node, not only reduce the energy consumption of the nodes,and its effects can also reduce the scope of the node,thus has avoided the hidden terminal question.The simulation of the result shows that compared with SMAC protocol,the improved protocol improves the network throughput,saves the energy consume.In the final,this paper summarized the research in graduate life and give out a vista of future work.Based on the existing wireless sensor networks MAC protocols are analyzed and some areas in need of improvement.It is foreseeable that,power control mechanism in WSN will go a long way especially from the whole achieves the purpose of saving energy consumption,in the near future will get from points applications.
