With the development of the military weapons system for electronic integration, data bus technology becomes the key technology in electronic integration. It provides real-time, highly reliable communication link for the information exchange between the military weapon electronic systems. With the increasing demand of the applications for the data transmission (video, audio, distributed data), considering to work well in harsh environment like military platform in the future, Fibre Channel is undoubtedly the best choice for the military data bus technology.Fibre Channel is a high-speed serial protocol which is developed by the X3T11 Panel of the American National Standard Institute. Fibre Channel has not only channel characteristic, but also network characteristic. It provides a common interface for channel and network data communication, and supports other serial protocols like HIPPI, IP, SCSI, ATM, as well as many other high-level protocols.In order to be applied in the avionic environment, Fibre Channel offers a set of protocol subsets called FC-AE (Fibre Channel Avionics Environment) which is used in the avionic environment, standardizes the choice of the Fibre Channel switching network and loop topology-connected device in avionic environment. As the sub-protocol of FC-AE, FC-AE-RDMA defines the upper protocol mapping FC-AE to RDMA, one of which aims is to enable the use of FCP protocol, through the creation of maps using the familiar concept of RDMA, which provides the necessary services to support low latency, low communication cost in the nodes of the avionic system.The paper first describes the Fibre Channel Protocol, with an emphasis on the FC-2 layer and the FC-4 layer, including the FC frame header information, service type, FCP protocol, etc. Then we introduce the traditional RDMA protocol, including RDMA’s background, working principle, and focusing on analyzing its combination of TCP/IP networking applications. Through analyzing the FCP standard, FC-AE-RDMA protocol which is based on FC technology and applied in the avionics environment, the data captured by the network software, describing the details of the communication procedure of FC-AE-RDMA data transmission, a prototype of the node is presented which can be implemented. Besides, the structure of the model is introduced, with detailed design of each component. Finally, in order to examine the rationality and feasibility of the design, we have built a test environment, analyzed the test result.
