As the community expanded the extent of human care,people are giving more and more tolerance and attention to the mobility disabled.People are making great efforts to creat a social environment where all groups can participate equitably.Barrier-free design is such a design method which can construct a equitable,stable and harmonious environment.Applying barrier-free design in landscape architecture is for the sake of allowing the mobility disabled to tour landscape environment with equity, comfort and convenience.That’s the reason why I selected this thesis subject.I hope that the concrete methods in landscape architecture summarized in my thesis could be helpful in practical projects.Mainly based on the theories and practical experience at home and abroad,this thesis carries out the concrete methods and requirements of barrier-free design in landscape architecture,using the approaches of documentary analysis,investigation and guiding practice.This thesis is divided into five parts:(1) Posing problem(2) Analysing problem(3) Solving problem(4) Application research(5) Summary and prospectThe biggest innovative points of this thesis are on the discussion of the barrier-free design methods in landscape architecture.Spurning listing a series of specifications,dimensions and requirements of barrier-free facilities simply,the thesis discuss the design methods from the aspects of general planning,landscape constructing and detailed designing in a creative way.Barrier-free design in landscape architecture is based on the outdoor behavior features and psychological characteristics of different mobility disabled,hoping to design the barrier-free landscape environment which meet their requirements indeed.Also the mobility disabled shouldn’t be treated as a special community but a ordinary one when designing,so the barrier-free environment could be beneficial for everyone.
