Among the researches of merge and acquisition of enterprises, flavor and fragrance industry is a less noticeable fine chemical industry. When more and more flavor and fragrance enterprises start IPO and be listed on stock market, as well as more cases of merge and acquisition take place, this industry gets more attention. However, regarding how to make the merge and acquisition of flavor and fragrance industry succeed and get more returns, the current research is extremely limited and lacks of effective standard of discrimination and correct method of evaluation. The thesis adopts the combined method of theory review and case analysis, and in the light of related theories and merge and acquisition, researches the case of merge and acquisition of Symrise, for the purpose of acquiring the experience and lessons of merge and acquisition of flavor and fragrance industry, as well as the purpose of proposing the effective methods raising the performance of merge and acquisition of flavor and fragrance industry.First, the thesis reviews the status quo of IPO, being listed, as well as merge and acquisition of flavor and fragrance industry; introduces the general concepts, basis theory and historical review of merge and acquisition of enterprises. Second, the thesis attempts research the purpose of merge and acquisition of enterprises based on analyzing the levels of strategy, management, operation, sales and marketing, and finance. Third, under the background of the development history of flavor and fragrance, and based on the case study of merge and acquisition of Symrise, the thesis comprehensively analyzes the benefit and loss of all parties of merge and acquisition, and emphases how to guarantee the success of merge and acquisition and the further development of the new enterprises based on the adjustment on the levels of strategy, management, operation, sales and marketing, and finance. Last, based on the strategic thinking of merge and acquisition of flavor and fragrance, the thesis attempts to give reference to the future development of China flavor and fragrance industry, especially to those by means of merge and acquisition of enterprises.
