Research and Practice of a Monitor and Control Software System Suitable for Use in Heterogeneous Computing Enviorment

Today, with the rapid development of network and information technology, more and more industries, business units have achieved business and management information; separately build application systems for their business functions. It will inevitably involve diversified heterogeneous entities from more and more different firms, such as heterogeneous platforms, business systems coded in different programming languages. Those enterprises which highly rely on network information are sensitive to service fault, immense economic lose may caused by short time service failure. Therefore, to design a monitoring system suitable to heterogeneous computing environments has a wide range of practical significance. This paper research and study one B/S based heterogeneous computing environments monitoring system, it can effectively complete comprehensive monitor tasks on equipments, services and systems in varieties of heterogeneous environments, and reflect the real-time state of the monitored objects.The main work researched in this paper is summarized as the followings:(1) This article does some comparative analysis of current domestic and international study status, three monitoring systems which used SNMP principles, WMI component, based on CORBA, were studied, analyzed and described in detail.(2) Through analyzing of three systems described above, and taking into account the actual needs of system in typical scene, designed and constructed a heterogeneous computing environment monitoring system, and given the overall software technology architecture design.(3) According to the scheme this paper designs, the author classified reasonable software modules, design objectives, responsibility areas, logical structure and implement are described in detail for each module.(4) This paper did further comparative analysis of the performance of the other schemes.The monitor and control software system based on B\S for use in heterogeneous computing environments has already be applied to Pudong airport through directional development. This design has achieved all-round monitoring of facilities, reflect the status of objects monitored.
