With the global economic growth and the development process of enterprises, human resources management has become one of the important factors in the success of enterprise. However, compensation management is the most important element in the human resources management, so that it becomes the key factor in the success of enterprises. Reasonable pay system can enable enterprises better attract, retain and motivate talented people in the fierce market competition, at the same time it plays an important role in enhancing the core competitiveness of enterprises.From the economics, management and psychology point of view, this paper conducted a major review of compensation theory, and at the same time it provides a comprehensive overview of the strategic compensation theory and full compensation theory for providing theoretical guidance of re-designing the pay system for the Boat Company. This paper briefly describes the Boat Company’s status of human resources and the pay system, analysis and sorts the existing problems in the pay system and explains the need for rebuilding the pay system. On this basis, in accordance with the basic requirements of pay system design to improve human resource management and market competitiveness of enterprises, this paper re-designs the pay system for the Boat Company. In the design process, this paper conducts a comprehensive description of the job analysis and evaluation, salary survey and compensation strategies, different remuneration structure, allowances and other benefits design. Finally it analyzes the difficulties to implement the new compensation system and puts forward relevant measures.The new compensation system strengthens the company’s comprehensive strength and provides some basis for its design, from retaining good employees, inspiring employees’potential, reducing the brain drain, establishing the echelon personnel, etc. This thesis has certain significance for improving the Boat Company’s compensation system, while, it has reference significance for other companies of this field to develop their compensation system.
