Automotive industry is the pillar industry of national economy development. With the popularity of cars, people have acknowledged more and more the auto technology and hope the higher performance of the car. As one of the important evaluation indicator, noise is becoming the focus for more and more customer. Meanwhile, nearly all auto manufacturers are trying to decrease the noise level to create a more silent and comfortable environment for drivers. Transmission is one of the most important sub-system of vehicle, whose function is that transferring the power from engine to vehicle to drive the car move and creating noise as well. How to control the noise and decrease the noise is becoming the first problem for all vehicle manufacturers.The document shows the application of Reilhofer system at the end of line through the process of solving the gear whine issue. By analysis of vibration spectrum, finding out the failure part and showing a direction to further optimize gear data.Through the analysis for gear manufacture datum of failure part and vibration datum of Reilhofer, we can find some significant difference from other months’data. And then, modeling the transmission in Romax and simulating the transmission error at some typical torque conditions to find the result of optimization.At last, by comparing the vibration analysis of Reilhofer and road test, we found the optimization for gear lead and profile is useful to decrease the noise level of transmission.
