Research on Compensation Strategy of Substation Reactive Power

Because of the existence of multiple capacitive load and inductive load, while active power is flowing, there will be the creation of reactive power between inductive cell and capacitive cell in electric power system. The reactive compensation of substation is an important component of the power grid’s reactive compensation, as well as the important safe conduct to the work safety of power grid. Along with rapid development of power grid, there are more devices, more complex operating mode of system and more complex reactive distribution in general power grid. In this case, the reactive compensation in power grid, especially the reactive compensation of substation is much more complex. On the other hand, with the continuous development of provincial economy, the consciousness of urban and rural residents in safeguarding their legal rights has been strengthened rapidly. There are some new industry enterprises emerging, such as polysilicon and flourien processing enterprise. Their special productive technology requires the higher power quality, which means we need new improvement on reactive compensation of power grid. At the present, the main method of reactive compensation of substation is still the switching of capacitor or reactor. Under some circumstances, this method can not fully meet the requirement of the intelligence enhance of power grid. Therefore, the different reactive distribution and voltage requirements for substation, as well as the study high intelligent and the versatile method of reactive compensation are very theoretically and practically important.Summarizing the universal reactive compensation technology development and analyzing the compare of the relative merits of different reactive compensation, through the simulation of traditional reactive compensation and new reactive compensation system from the software MATLAB, this paper aims at the study of the method of reactive compensation of substation. In the end, for instance, we optimized the reactive compensation of Quzhou 220k Voltage Substation. The mentioned method of reactive compensation is analyzing the reactive compensation status of busbar and each line, confirming the users’requirements and reactive compensation requirements of each line, and then deploying different reactive compensation respectively. After all this, we can confirm the method of reactive compensation and achieve the intelligentize fitting of reactive compensation of substation.
