The Automatic Drawing of the Scene for the Road Traffic Accident

The rapid development of transportation accelerates the prosperity of economy, however, at the same time, results in the increase of traffic accident. How to investigate road traffic scene rapidly、accurately and standardly has become the urgent demand of current traffic accident disposition work. The traditional treatment of traffic accident on the road is insufficiency, moreover, the precision is low and it’s apt to leak the scales. That will bring the nonessential trouble to the following accident responsibility determine. The paper has used object-oriented programming language Visual C++ to develop the automatic drawing system of road traffic accident scene diagram based on photogrammetry technology. This paper mainly focuses on the following aspects:1. Aiming at the advantages and disadvantages of the traditional camera calibration, a novel method for camera calibration based on planar pattern is proposed in this paper. First, considering that the distortion in the image central area is small, initial values are computed limited in the image central area, and these values can approximate the exact values well. Second, partial calibration values are calculated through a subspace trust region method based on the interior-reflective Newton method. Finally, distortion model is introduced, and an approach with linear feature is employed for the computation of remaining parameters. The method only need one picture can finish the calibration.2. According to the demands of drawing system of road traffic accident scene diagram, using VC++ develop the simple and applicable drawing system. And combination with case, use the developed system to draw road traffic accident scene diagram.The paper proved that the camera calibration method is simple,and the automatic drawing system of road traffic accident scene diagram is feasible by experiment.
