The birth and development of the Internet had a huge impact on the way of information dissemination , cross-cultural exchange of information on the Internet without Borders unprecedented frequent site as the main form of Internet media in this process plays an important roles , and has even become an important carrier of culture . In fact, the site can be a reflection of the cultural identity of the country , this phenomenon also attracted the attention of the cross-cultural scholars . Beginning in the 1990s , some scholars began to cross-cultural theory applies to website design analysis, research and cultural factors of website design , and suggestions on how to improve cross-cultural usability to improve the site based on the results . This article is based on the theory of cultural dimensions Geert Hofstede too Germany , focusing on the power distance dimension . Eight values ??corresponding theory According to Hofstede too German , \To explore the central issue . The study adopted a combination of qualitative and quantitative experimental methods to study . Start with the four different countries to select the site of the University of the ten , ten students and ten British students to rate the intensity of the power distance values ??embodied in these sites and evaluation , after the data and information acquired the analysis and the results show that the power distance values ??certain embodied in the university website . This thesis consists of five parts . The first part describes the background and significance of the study . The second part of this paper involves several important concepts and an overview of the main elements of web design and basic concepts . The third part introduces the theory of the five cultural dimensions of Geert Hofstede too Germany and a brief review of its application in the study of cross-cultural website . Part IV describes the design and implementation process of the research experiments , and the results were analyzed . The fifth part a summary of the full text and asked the inadequacies and can be extended in the future related research .
