Study on the Mechanical Properties of Inclined Concrete-Filled Steel Tubular Stub Columns

From two aspects of theory and experiment study the mechanical properties of the circular and rectangular steel pipe concrete under vertical load short inclined column , parameter analysis and comparison of national regulations on the basis of recommendations of the round , rectangular steel concrete short oblique column strength bearing capacity and practical calculation method . Through 16 under vertical load of CFST short oblique column test study , this paper analyzes the law of the cross - sectional form and short oblique column in the round and rectangular CFT mechanical properties and failure mode of the tilt angle . Test data to determine the material properties and the finite element model based on the use of nonlinear finite element software ABAQUS under vertical load circular and rectangular CFT short oblique column specimen load - deformation process the calculated results are verification of test results , and the theoretical model of the finite element to expand the analysis to finalize . After , according to theoretical calculations to determine the properties of the relevant materials with the finite element model , expand the finite element analysis of concrete filled steel tubular short oblique column , the main parameters of the tilt angle , the strength of steel , concrete strength and sectional steel rate , the study of these parameters on the specimen carrying capacity as well as the impact of the interaction between the steel and the concrete . The U.S. the ACI ( 2005 ) and AISC (2005), the AIJ of Japan ( 2008 ) , British BS5400 ( 2005 ) as well as China CECS159 : 2004 (2004 ) , DL/T5085-1999 ( 1999 ) and DBJ13 -51 -2003 (2003) seven design disciplines strength bearing capacity of this paper round and rectangular CFT stub columns were calculated , and the calculation of the different procedures and experimental results were compared and analyzed to determine the most appropriate test data within the formula . Practical formula recommended that the carrying capacity of round and rectangular CFT short oblique column compressive strength respectively , both from finite element calculations with experimental results validate the overall good agreement can be developed for engineering practice and procedures reference.
