Pingle Depression Characteristics and the Relationship about Carlin-type Gold Mineralization in Western Jiangxi, China

Pingle Depression situated in north-western Jiangxi Province is located in the conjunction part between the South China plate and Yangtze plate,which is a sunken belt between Jiuling uplift and Wugongshan uplift and divide the area into Jiuling terrane and Wugongshan terrain respectively.Since the 90’s,geochemical exploration in Jiangxi.Province has found many gold deposits in the west region,which was hosted in the strata from Triassic to Carboniferous, showing the huge potential for gold mineral exploration.The thesis has carried out field investigation on the structural characteristics and gold mineralization of the area based on previous geological survey, mineral exploration and research result. Two structure profiles cross the Pingle depression has been set up with structural features,establishing tectonic framework of the depression. The thesis has finally analyzed the pattern and forming origin of the main structure,and discussed its effect on the control of gold mineralization.As for structure and mineralization, the author starts his research from Xiaolong and Yujiali deposits, and discusses their main fault types, distribution and control to gold ore deposits.The structure features of the depression and its effect on micro-granular disseminated gold mineralirate are studied.It’s found that most Carlin-type gold occurrences around fault, especially around the mid Zhuting-Jianxi deep fault.According to regional metallogenic conditions and some developed mineral occurence,the author founds that the intersection part of controlling fault and later rupture is often the favorable locate for the mineralization.There are many intersections of this kinds, including of east-west basin-controlling faults and north-northeast,north-south, north-west structure,and the secondary faults near basin controlling faults with which main faults controls the distribution of mineral occurcences.In addition,the ore body is directly controlled by secondary faults,faults intersection,drag fold of faults flanking region, sliding and broken between layers,secondary faults and so on.
