School is the important place for students to study, live, and be socialized. Campus adaptation is the result of the interaction between students with individual characteristics and school environment. Good campus adaptation will enable students to participate school activities happily and actively and gain successful experience. The poor campus adaptation will not only affect students on their individual’s academic performance and interpersonal relationships, but also hurt their physical and mental health, even affect and hinder their values and character formation, affect the future social adjustment.Have taught in a vocational school in Shanghai, there is such a special group of students who cannot speak standard Mandarin, they come to Shanghai from far place. They conflict with the new environment, new requirements and create themselves, hone their talent in the vocational school in Shanghai, ultimately merge into the lives of Shanghai, become a new force of the city construction. In the path of growth, they also experienced various situations of campus adaptation. This paper attempts to look for reasons of their not adapting to the campus through cross-cultural view. With description of adaptation results and the process of adaptation, try to outline the real situation of their campus adaptation.The author try to propose solutions by using the facts to reveal the current management issues among non-local students, relating theories at home and abroad and expanding the breadth and depth of research.This study used empirical research methods. As a vocational school teacher with ten years of teaching experience, the author has accumulated a large number of cases through participant observation and experience, but in order to avoid the limitations of individual vision, to make research with objective and universal significance, the author prepared two questionnaires of students and teachers to question vocational students and interview a comprehensive survey on teachers, middle leaders. in Shanghai X vocational school. By analyzing and comparing, the author found there exits the phenomenon that the non-local students do not adapt the campus.The study found that there are many reasons for this situation, in addition to the external environment changes, the student’s lack of preparation and effort, the lack of thoughts and actions of school are the main reasons. Based on the above understanding and analysis, the author made several suggestions for improvement, including to rethink education and management of non-local students, to make meticulous pre-education and to do fine management of non-local students, hope that these studies can contribute for non-local students to adapt the campus.
